DDoS Protection: Cloudflare

DDoS protection at the edge. Includes WAF Configuration, Rate Limiting, Bot Mitigation and Volumetric Protection — delivered by IQDigital's senior team.

DDoS protection keeps your site online when attackers flood it with traffic. IQDigital deploys protection with Cloudflare or AWS Shield in front of your infrastructure: absorbing volumetric attacks, blocking application-layer attacks with web application firewall rules, rate-limiting APIs and separating real visitors and good bots from malicious ones.

Who it's for

  • Online businesses where every minute offline costs revenue
  • Companies with public APIs open to abuse or brute-force attempts
  • Sites hit by scrapers and malicious bots

What is DDoS protection?

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack can wipe your business off the internet in seconds. IQDigital deploys enterprise-grade DDoS protection using Cloudflare or AWS Shield. We sit in front of your infrastructure, absorbing the traffic flood so your servers never feel the heat. We differentiate between a flash crowd of customers and a botnet of attackers.

How WAF, rate limiting and bot management work

We configure 'WAF' (Web Application Firewall) rules to block malicious traffic patterns (SQLi, XSS) at the edge. We implement 'Rate Limiting' to prevent API abuse. We use 'Bot Management' to identify and challenge automated scrapers while letting legitimate Google bots through.

What happens during an attack

We set up 'Under Attack Mode' protocols. When an attack is detected, we can instantly challenge every visitor with a JS challenge or CAPTCHA, filtering out the bots while keeping the site accessible to humans. We ensure your digital doors remain open to business, even when the internet is trying to slam them shut.

What's included

  • WAF Configuration — Blocking Layer 7 attacks at the edge.
  • Rate Limiting — Preventing API abuse and brute force.
  • Bot Mitigation — Distinguishing humans from malicious scripts.
  • Volumetric Protection — Absorbing Layer 3/4 traffic spikes.

How an engagement runs

  1. Diagnose (Week 1) — We find the money before we spend yours.
  2. Build (2–8 weeks) — Senior engineers. Your stack. Weekly proof.
  3. Launch (Go-live) — Released against a baseline, not a hope.
  4. Compound (Ongoing) — The second month should beat the first.

How the work is scoped

  • Engagement: Fixed-scope project · optional managed support

Questions about DDoS Protection

Which DDoS protection do you use?

Cloudflare or AWS Shield, which sit in front of your infrastructure and absorb attack traffic before it reaches your servers.

What is a web application firewall?

A set of rules at the edge that blocks malicious request patterns, such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting, before they reach your application.

Will protection block search engine crawlers?

No. Bot management challenges automated scrapers and attackers while letting legitimate crawlers such as Googlebot through.

What is Under Attack Mode?

A protocol for active attacks: every visitor is challenged with a JavaScript check or CAPTCHA, filtering out bots while keeping the site reachable for people.
